The Truth Circle

One cannot argue against the statement

“An opinion is not equal to the truth.”

Because in saying “that is just an opinion” you subject yourself to either a severe misunderstanding of the fallibility of humanity, and/or an absurd denial of it, and you create an absurd circular argument of

“That is an opinion….”
“But so too is that an opinion…”

To which no truth can be squeezed out.

But with one key word…

“An opinion is not always equal to the truth.”

We have found a truth, by removing the absolute statement.

I think I just broke philosophy. Or my brain. Or both. I’m too buzzed for this….

Anime Junky

Sometimes, I wish I was an anime character. Seriously think about it for a moment.

1) You only have to change your outfits once every season, but as time goes on they get cooler, and pretty fashionable.
2) No one really needs jobs, but when they have them, they’re usually pretty neat.
3) You go on cool adventures.
4) Your hair is not only almost always perfect, but it is usually in some really fun colors and crazy styles that are somehow completely socially acceptable.
5) You never seem to age.
6) You’re almost always skinny, but can eat A TON of food.
7) Your makeup never comes off, if you need makeup at all.
8) Giant robots and cool creatures.
9) Your arch nemesis is at least pretty awesome looking and worth fighting against.
10) You usually have to save the world, but it doesn’t take too much when you have some kind of awesome power that you can use…or a giant robot/gun/powerful creature to blow everything up with.
11) Romances are way cuter and you can only be shipped with another attractive person, because everyone who matters in anime is usually pretty attractively drawn.
12) You always have theme music. Usually epic theme music.
13) Your sense of duty and work ethic is unmatched. And in some episodes so is your laziness.
14) Everything humorous you do is hilariously funny.
15) Badass friends (though my real friends are still pretty badass not gunna lie).
16) Swords are bigger and much easier to manage in Anime.
17) either everybody dies or nobody dies…which could be a toss up.
18) Independence from family (because they’re dead or disinterested in you and you don’t care) , or a cool enough family that does everything to help you out no matter what.
19) An epic past that gives you good reason to be the person you are today.
20) Good always wins.

Yeah….seriously wish my life was an Anime today.

A Weird Conversation: ‘Merica!

20140712-092939-34179741.jpg

I hadn’t seen her since she got back from vacation. My brain was racing as she recounted the story to me. What would I have done? What could one do?

“So what did you do?”

“I ran towards her and it veered off, and thankfully it didn’t fly off with her.”

“What would you have done if it did fly off with her?”

“It’s a Bald Eagle, there wouldn’t be anything I could do. I can’t harm it…can I?”

This baffled me. She was on vacation, and her daughter of 6 months old, was moving from her to her grandmother. A bald eagle let out a cry in the direction of another, the one who swooped down towards the baby. She saw it, and she was able to move quickly enough before it got to her daughter, scaring it away. She admitted, if that other bird hadn’t let out a call, she wouldn’t have thought to look, and it might have been too late.

You would only hope that if you got arrested that the jury would see you innocent. Or was it a large fine for killing an Eagle under such circumstances? Were there laws protecting you from this? Probably. I would hope. How strange of a situation for the Fourth of July huh? How strange for a parent to have to encounter! How oddly desperate for an eagle to behave, but then again, I have heard of hawks trying to take small pets from their owners arms.

Were it me and a baby….I’d just kill it. Just saying.
