Ice Princess

White gloves

On pale hands

The night felt cold

The ice touched skin

The grey fell over her face

Eyes darkened

Wool coats

Pulled over cold faces

Nights broke down

Walls built high

She couldn’t fight

He couldn’t win

No one could save

The soul

It was between

Her and God

The bridge was narrow

So were her thoughts

She longed to sink

To become the ice shards
